One of my favourite quotes; “We may not have it all together, but together we have it all” perfectly captures what it is to know love; if you are planning a wedding (which is very possible if you are reading this) CONGRATULATIONS on finding THE person who makes you feel like you “have it all”....it really is one of life’s greatest blessings, and your outward declaration and promise to love and cherish each other, without obligation, but through choice, through a bespoke wedding service or ceremony, deserves to be marked with all the warmth, love, reverence, inclusivity, and joy that befits a lifelong commitment!
The wedding ceremony of your dreams may well be the culmination of months, sometimes years of careful planning and preparation, right down to the last intricate detail; choosing the right Celebrant who will create and officiate your wedding ceremony is an important (yet often overlooked) part of the planning, especially when you are juggling a never-ending 'to do' list or balancing a lot of emotions!
Your wedding ceremony represents a pivotal moment in your life, and there is nothing more soul destroying then seeing all that love, dedication and commitment celebrated and recognised in any way that is 'less' than you both deserve! Thats where Civil Celebrant-led ceremonies are the wedding ‘game-changers’ because they afford you complete freedom to celebrate your day your way; giving you a "ceremony of distinction" - without restriction!
You can choose to write and declare your own vows to each other; if you need a little help putting the words together, I can assist with that.
You can get married at any time, anywhere (unless it is absolutely prohibited)!
Your ceremony style can be as traditional, contemporary, elegant, informal, quirky, outrageous, romantic, understated or as lavish as you want it to be!
...And, because I am an Independent Civil Celebrant honouring all faiths, beliefs, and personal choice, together, we can include whatever resonates with you, whether that is music, hymns, readings, spiritual words, weaving in beautiful mini ceremonies such as handfasting, traditions from any religion (a blend of all of these elements or none!) It’s your choice entirely!
Creating your ceremony and officiating on your special day, is NOT about writing a generic or prescriptive service, and reading a script out to you and your guests…. it’s about really understanding and drawing out all the things that are important to you and weaving that into your ceremony - it’s about telling your story and recognising all that you are to each other, in a way that sets your day completely apart from the many other wonderful weddings you may yourself been lucky enough to be part of - it’s what makes your day memorable and is the reason I became a Celebrant!
Weddings are of course wonderfully emotionally uplifting occasions, but they can sometimes be tinged with sadness especially where a loved one, who ‘should’ have been with you to share your special day is no longer here. One of the things that I personally find rewarding is bringing an element of remembrance into your ceremony (if it's something that resonates with you); it's a very personal choice which can be deeply meaningful to many couples. At the end of the day, your wedding is YOURS, so - at the risk of sounding ‘cheesy’ - your ceremony, can be as empowering, tender, and unbounded as the love you feel for each other!
What you need to do to make your Independent Civil Celebrant-led wedding ceremony a lawfully binding 'marriage'
…You can expect a dedicated service and a beautiful ceremony, starting with an informal chat to get to know each other, giving you the opportunity to consider if I am the Celebrant for you, followed by a meeting in person (or Skype call if a face to face meeting is not possible) where we can discuss ideas around how you would like your day to be, setting the tone and considering your ceremony ‘content’ - I can of course offer guidance and ideas that can be interpreted in your own way if you are looking for a little inspiration.
Weddings by their nature, evoke so many expectations and emotions so getting to know you as individuals and as a couple, before your big day, to create a ceremony that is perfect for you, is so important. We will meet again nearer to the ceremony date, however the number of meetings is not limited to two - getting this right for you will always take precedence - therefore, if you would like additional meetings, a read-through or rehearsal, we can do that too....and of course, I am at the end of the phone, whenever you need me.
If you would like me to take the pressure off you completely, and take the reins, creating a ceremony based on all the elements we have discussed, that will be my pleasure and its what I LOVE to do! You may, however, have specific requirements, so I will be guided by you (we can create your service together) and you will be presented with a draft ceremony which we can ‘tweak’ to suit you.
You can be absolutely assured that your day will be my focus, and your ceremony will be delivered in a way that is everything you want it to be and stays imprinted in your memory long after the champagne has been sipped and the dancefloor has cleared....
Ultimately my hope and intention for you on your special day, is that the ceremony I create and deliver for you, reflects all that you are to each other, brings meaning into the things and the people who matter to you most, and is as unique and individual as you are..... It’s no less than you both deserve!
I am an east sussex wedding celebrant based in Eastbourne, but as we all know, love is not exclusive to the UK's 'Sunshine Coast'; I will be honoured to create and deliver services across Sussex, the UK and Overseas (upon request)
The investment you make in your ceremony, is often the same (or similar) price that you would pay for a registrar to come to your chosen venue, yet you get a ceremony that is completely unique and bespoke! Ultimately, you are investing in a 'ceremony of distinction'
My fee for Sussex, Surrey and Kent based Ceremonies is £750.00.
For UK wide and Overseas ceremonies, feel free to call or email me for a personal quotation! I look forward to hearing from you!
My question would be why would you NOT want a Celebrant-led wedding service, ceremony, or blessing
as individual as you are?
